A Brand New Jazz Festival for Teddington

The line-up is now finalised! Headlining the festival is the incredible singer, songwriter, and pianist Liane Carroll, performing with her trio featuring bassist Roger Carey and Russell Field on drums. Liane is a multi-award-winning talent, with two BBC Jazz Awards for Best Vocalist and Best of Jazz. Her shows are legendary, combining a voice passionate enough to move a mountain to tears with a wicked sense of humour.

Celebrated bassist, arranger, and composer Dave Jones will showcase his amazing band ‘Funk Affinity’. Expect smooth grooves and top-notch improvisation with music from icons such as George Duke, Patrice Rushen, Angela Bofill, Herbie Hancock, and Stevie Wonder. Joing the band as a special guest will be Sandra-Mae Lux on vocals and tenor sax. Sandra-Mae’s debut album Happily Ever Now reached #3 in the UK Soul Charts.

At the festival, you’ll be among the first to witness true virtuosic talent presented by Tomorrow’s Warriors – the organisation behind the success of the chart-topping Ezra Collective! Pianist and composer Emily Tran is one of the most exciting young jazz artists emerging from the London scene. Since joining the Tomorrow’s Warriors community, Emily has played in a range of ensembles in venues such as the Queen Elizabeth Hall, Ronnie Scott’s and the Barbican. Her compositions draw influence from artists like Immanuel Wilkins, Charles Mingus and Connie Han.

Guitar fans, this one’s for you! Chris Corcoran and his band are set to blow you away with some mighty fine blues. Not only will Chris light up the main stage, but he’s also offering a Blues Guitar Workshop to support our Festival’s chosen charity.

Band leader Tony Woods brings a quintet comprised of top professional musicians musicians from West London’s jazz collective Way Out West – now in its 20th year. When it comes to jazz on this side of town, they are truly the masters. Augmenting the quintet is vocalist and tenor player Nette Robinson. Get ready from sax-led straight-ahead swing!

Local funk heroes Funkyard 7 will be kicking off the music at 2pm, supplying some joyous, infectious grooves if you feel like strutting your stuff down by the riverside…
